The Vavuniya South Divisional Secretariat is situated in the southern part of the Vavuniya district which is in the entrance of the Northern Province of the Island.This division is bounded north by Vavuniya division, East by Trincomalee district, South by Anuradhapura district and the West by Vangalacheddikulam Division and it covers up in the region of 188.5 Sqr.km that is 9.6 percent of the district.This Divisional Secretariat is more important to the Sinhalese who live on a great deal than others.
The Vavuniya South divisional secretariat has been divided in to 20 GN divisions which include 91 respective villages and there are 5934 families consisting of 16844 persons up to 31 March 2024.
